After School Clubs for grades K – 5: A great outdoor classroom opportunity designed for elementary aged children
The Landscape and Nature Club provides an outdoor hands-on experience that sparks a child’s excitement and curiosity about nature. The students discover and learn about weather, insects, plants, wildlife, and the importance of Montgomery County’s Agricultural Reserve. The students will be exploring nature right there on the school grounds. They also participate in enhancing the appearance of the school grounds by maintaining existing gardens, planting flowers and bulbs, or creating new garden areas. When available we include visits from small animals such as chickens, turtles, toads, and snakes. Sessions are typically once a week for 5 weeks, flyers or emails regarding upcoming clubs will be distributed at your child’s school.
